Artifacts made of iron are commonly found on 19th century farmsteads and a quantity of iron related items have been recovered. Warner family members still refer to one of the former outbuildings at the site as the "blacksmith shop" though little evidence of actual hot metal working has been found. Only the boulder and cobble foundation of the "blacksmith shop" remains. Family members have been particularly helpful in the identification of various artifacts, particularly those made of iron, as several living members recall working with the machines and tools of which some of these artifacts were a part of.
